Organisers of the International Young Audience Film Festival Ale Kino! present the Platinum Goats of Poznań Award in recognition of the nominee's outstanding contribution in making films aimed specifically at children and the young audience.

The Award was presented for the first time in 2002, during the jubilee 20th edition of the Festival. The Award was then presented to Maria Kaniewska who directed such movies as Awantura o Basię, Szatan z siódmej klasy and Panienka z okienka.

The winner of this year's Platinum Goats of Poznań Award is Stanisław Jędryka.
The award will be presented at a ceremony on June 6, 2003 during the official closing of the Festival. This year's programme will also feature selected movies from the award winner's film output.

Stanisław Jędryka was born on July 27, 1933 in the city of Sosnowiec in the industrial south of Poland. He graduated from the famous Film Directing Faculty of the Łódź State Film School in 1956. Mr. Jędryka ranks among the most notable and best-known film-makers for the young audiences. Several generations have already been brought up on his films. He is a prolific director and his output includes also documentaries and TV theatre shows. He was given the prestigious award of the then Polish Radio and TV Board in 1973 for his children's film series. He also received the Polish Prime Ministers Awards for his output for children and young audience on two separate occasions, in 1976 and 1980.
